A domestic violence expert has been called to testify in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's messy child custody case over their six children. Alyce LaViolette will testify about communications between "parties" as well as "the children." Other witnesses will also take the stand during court proceedings beginning next week, according to court documents obtained by The Sun.
As the long bitter battle between Brad and Angelina continues to play out, Pitt has named several witnesses and experts who will testify on his behalf at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Downtown LA. Among them are several psychologists as well as a security guard and one of his estranged wife's co-stars, the outlet reported. Jolie has named multiple medical professionals. Both stars, who will be cross-examined, will call LaViolette to the stand.
"Ms. LaViolette is expected to testify regarding her interactions and communications with the parties, the children, Dr. Katz, other professionals and third parties regarding the parties and the children," the legal documents read.
The former couple's children, Maddox, 19, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12, will not testify. The legal documents further reveal that Judge John W. Ouderkirk, who Jolie asked be removed from the case, will oversee the proceedings.
In August the "Maleficent" star requested that Ouderkirk be disqualified from the case over claims that he had business relationships with Pitt's attorney, Anne C. Kiley. Jolie claimed that the judge "failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and Respondent’s counsel."
Pitt fired back by accusing Jolie of using the demand to delay the ruling for the settlement and custody arrangements of their children, whom he claimed were being hurt the most by the stall tactics.
Angelina filed for divorce from Brad after an alleged “incident” on a plane. She never specified what happened, but it touched off a years-long battle of innuendoes and whispering campaigns that has turned this into one of Hollywood’s most bitter splits.
