Brad Pitt’s case has been closed and the actor will reportedly not be facing any charges stemming from an incident that took place on a private plane with his children in September, sparking two separate investigations.
NBC News Investigations reporter Andrew Blankstein tweeted on Tuesday that a “source familiar” with the FBI’s review of the case said the agency was “closing inquiry into the allegations involving Brad Pitt and children.”
“NO charges” will be brought against Pitt, the tweet read.
This comes weeks after the 52-year-old actor was cleared in a separate investigation by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services for claims that Pitt hit his 15-year-old son, Maddox, on a private jet on Sept. 14, according to BBC News.
The LADCFS cleared the actor of all charges after interviewing Pitt, Jolie, and their six children, finding “no cause for concern,” Radar Online noted.
“In response to allegations made following a flight within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States which landed in Los Angeles carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation,” said Laura Eimiller, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s Los Angeles field office, The Huffington Post noted.
“No charges have been filed in this matter,” she said.
Jolie, 41, recently filed for divorce from Pitt, who she’s now been married to for two years and in a relationship with since 2005, The Post noted. Jolie is also seeking full physical custody of their six children, ages 8 to 15.
At the time, Jolie said the decision to file for divorce “was made for the health of the family,” The Post noted.
Pitt and Jolie’s children include two adopted sons, Maddox from Cambodia and Pax from Vietnam; an adopted daughter from Ethiopia, Zahara; and three biological children, Shiloh Nouvel and twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, The Post noted.
