Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are reuniting once again, this time for a virtual live table read of the 1982 film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High."
The former couple and fan favorites will join several other A-listers including Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConaughey, Sean Penn and Julia Roberts to participate in the "unrehearsed, anything-goes table read" set to take place on Aug. 21 on Facebook Live and TikTok, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
After their divorce, there was a period where Brad and Jen were at odds, particularly when he was with Angelina Jolie. But now things have warmed between the former couple, leading to a tabloid frenzy that they will get back together. And while there’s been no outward sign of a romantic relationship, clearly they are over any animosity that once existed.
The event they will reunite for is titled "Dane Cook Presents 'Feelin' A-Live'” and will serve as a fundraiser for Penn's nonprofits, CORE and the REFORM Alliance.
"On behalf of our dedicated team at CORE, I’m so appreciative of the support Dane has given and continues to give to our work," Penn, who starred in the original film, said in statement, according to Variety.
"I’m always game for a giggle. So, to gather remotely for a night of laughs with so many talented folks while providing CORE with much-needed resources to continue our vital work, then consider us fully onboard to play!"
The film's director Amy Heckerling and screenwriter Cameron Crowe will be introducing the read. Crowe said that although Penn would not be reprising his role, he was excited to have him on board.
"Sean brought magic to us on day one, and he is still bringing that magic to the world. We are so excited to be a part of this 2020 take on 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High,'" Crowe said. "Thank you to this cast, and to Sean, for always honoring the best things in life, love and creativity. It is, as a great man once said, totally awesome."
Heckerling said she was excited to have so many notable celebrities participating in the read.
"I’m honored that so many talented, wonderful people are willing to get together to celebrate our movie, and to create their own special version of it," she said. "And I’m a huge fan of Sean. He has such a big heart and I fully support CORE and all of his causes."
