Brian Anthony Howe, the former lead vocalist of the rock band Bad Company, has died at age 66. He went into cardiac arrest on Tuesday and passed away shortly after EMTs arrived at his home in Florida, his manager Paul Easton confirmed to Fox News.

"It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of a loving father, friend, and musical icon, Brian Howe," Easton said. "Though EMTs were able to have a short conversation with him, he slipped away, and they were unable to revive him."

Howe's sister Sandie also released a statement reacting to the news.

"Finding the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts over losing my brother has been difficult," she said. "Our family would like to thank you for your compassion and the outpouring of love we are receiving."

Howe suffered a heart attack in 2017. Days before his death, he was seriously injured in a scooter collision that left him with broken ribs, Fox News noted.

The acclaimed singer and songwriter rose to fame after collaborating with multi-platinum artist Ted Nugent to release the 1983 album, 'Penetrator,' according to IMDB.

Riding the wave of success from the album, Howe gained the attention of Bad Company, which had released a string of hits in the 1970s but was halted after founder Paul Rodgers departed.

Howe stepped in to fill his shoes and by 1991, Bad Company had become one of the top five grossing acts. Howe left three years later, citing creative differences.

"At some point, you want to move on artistically," Howe said, accordng to IMDB. "If you're not creating something new, then what's the point? It gets very difficult to love music anymore when what you're doing is resting on your past hits."
