A fuming bride is insisting that her pregnant bridesmaid owes her a $40,000 wedding redo after stealing the limelight with her "vibrant personality," "attractive husband," and content "pregnancy/marriage/life."
The 25-year-old Bridezilla took to Reddit to vent. Posting under the name "Ignoredbride," she desribed how Anna, the "star of the story," upstaged her on her big day.
The wedding took three years to plan but four months before the day, Anna got married and became pregnant.
"Getting pregnant before late 20s/30s, married or not, is basically a teenage pregnancy and drew ATTENTION," the livid bride wrote. "She also has a vibrant personality and has a way of eclipsing everyone around her. Her husband is also very tall and incredibly attractive, which drew a lot of attention."
According to the Reddit user, "all anyone spoke about" was "Anna's pregnancy and her attractive husband." The scorned bride said she left the reception in tears and refused to attend the next morning's brunch.
"I can't even look at the pictures without crying and desperately want a do-over," she wrote. "I'm not a bridezilla, but this was beyond the pale. It felt like a celebration of Anna's marriage. I'm sorry, but I put so much planning, effort, and money into this while someone that got pregnant without a thought and married spur of the moment reaped the benefits."
It seems there is only one way that Anna can make it up to her angry friend — by giving her a redo.
"I honestly feel like Anna owes me a wedding and did all of this as revenge for me offending her years ago. Am I wrong?" the angry bride posted.
Other Reddit users did not agree.
"I am not a bridezilla" is what every bridezilla says always,” one user commented.
"In what country is being 25, married, and pregnant considered a "teenage pregnancy"? wondered another Reddit user.
"I particularly liked the part where she called Anna very single then proceeded to say she was in a casual relationship with the person she married. Clearly she was in a pretty serious relationship," someone else posted.
There are countless other cringe worthy Bridezilla stories floating around the internet. In a separate thread, one Reddit user recalled how, when she was a bridesmaid, she was banned form "looking at, speaking to or dancing with her significant other, who happened ot be a groomsman, because they may steal the spotlight from the bride.
Another Reddit user was dating a bridesmaid who had lost he hair due to Graves' disease and was asked by the bride's mother to wear hair extensions.
"Telling somebody that have to put on a wig because you don't think they look good enough to be in your daughter's photos seems pretty terrible to me," he wrote.
