Brie Larson and Emilia Clarke are the frontrunners to play Sarah Connor in the upcoming "Terminator" reboot slated to hit theaters in 2015, industry insiders say.
Larson, 24, is a regular on the indie-film circuit, though she's appeared in a few blockbusters like "21 Jump Street" and "Don Jon." Just this week, she took home up the Best Actress honor at the 23rd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City.

Clarke, 26, is an English actress best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen on HBO's wildly popular "Game of Thrones."
Deadline.com reported this week that both women have done screen tests with producers for the role of Sarah Conner, the Terminator's target, and are considered the frontrunners for the part that Linda Hamilton originated in James Cameron's first two "Terminator" films.
"Both Clarke and Larson are renowned for their ability to portray determined and occasionally fierce, yet also vulnerable and overall
multi-dimensional women onscreen," ScreenRant.com's Sandy Schaefer wrote. "Clarke has more experience at play emotionally-grounded characters in serious fantastical genre fare, while Larson has a stronger background in comedy."
Some fans, though, feel that both Larson and Clarke are too young to play Connor.
"Talented actresses, but they both feel like girls to me," one poster wrote on Deadline.com. "How about someone in their 30s [or older]. Someone who doesn’t look like they were pledging Delta Gamma a couple years ago."
Arnold Schwarzenegger has already signed on to reprise his role as the cyborg sent back in time to assassinate Connor, while actors like Tom Hardy, Garrett Hedlund, Nicholas Hoult, and Taylor Kitsch are all reportedly in the running to play Kyle Reese, Connor's love interest.
