Bristol Palin and her Medal of Honor husband Dakota Meyer have reportedly split, several news sites have reported, and the breakup includes on social media, too.
TMZ reported sources saying Palin, 27, and Meyer, 29, are no longer living together and People magazine reported that Meyer had filed for divorce from Palin, the eldest daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The Guardian reported also that Meyer had filed for divorce.
Palin had been living separately from Meyer since the Christmas holidays, People said. They had living together with their children in Austin, Texas.
TMZ also said the couple had stopped following each other on Instagram, a social media platform they used on a regular basis.
Meyer, a former U.S. Marine sergeant who served in Afghanistan and was awarded the Medal of Honor, has also blocked Palin on social media, a source told People.
The couple have two children together – Sailor Grace, 2, and Atlee Bay, nine months, according to People. Palin also has a son, Tripp, 9, from her previous relationship with Levi Johnston.
Meyer last posted a photo of him and Palin together with the children on Instagram on Jan. 7 with the caption "What matters."
The couple has had their share of public ups and downs, including calling off their wedding initially in May 2015, just days before it was slated to take place, according to People. Palin and Meyer eventually tied the knot in June 2016.
"I feel like my life has never been this 'normal,'" Palin told "Entertainment Tonight” last May after the birth of their daughter Atlee Bay. "It's been so wonderful and I give all the thanks to my husband. … He has shown me really what the definition of love truly is. He really is the most selfless man – and has been my rock through everything this past year."
Meyer is author of the book "Into the Fire: A Firsthand Account of the Most Extraordinary Battle in the Afghan War."
