Bruce Jenner's mother Esther buried the hatchet with his wife of 22 years, reality star Kris Jenner, in front of the prying cameras of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," but it took an Olympian effort by the 63-year-old Wheaties hero.

Bruce Jenner reconciled his mom and wife as part of a celebration of Esther Jenner's 87th birthday, reported
US Weekly. Jenner flew his mother in from Idaho for the birthday.
After Kris Jenner ditched Esther Jenner's birthday party for an early night in bed, Bruce Jenner brought the two back together the next day in a forced intervention, according to US Weekly.

"We haven't been too close in any way," Esther Jenner told her daughter-in-law, according to US Weekly. "I'm so sorry for that."
"It was very complicated I think," Kris Jenner responded. "Just a lot of personalities in the mix and stuff going on."
Esther Jenner added, "I have felt like I should stay away, stay out of the picture, and I have, but it's not right."
The elder Jenner, explaining that her son's current marriage is his longest, praised her daughter-in-law.
"You've been good for him and I think he's been good for you," Esther Jenner told Kris Jenner.
"Wow, I've waited 23 years for this. Better late than never." Kris Jenner said after the pow wow.
Bruce Jenner has been married three times, according to
Xfinity Comcast. He had two children with his first wife Chrystie Crownover (Burt and Cassandra). Jenner had two more children with second wife Linda Thompson (Brandon and Brody).
Jenner reached "Brady Bunch" status with Kris Jenner, adding two more children (Kendall and Kylie) while becoming a stepfather for Kris Jenner's reality show clan of Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian, according to Xfinity.

Jenner's was first recognized as one of the country's premier track and field athletes, winning the gold medal in the decathlon with a world record total of 8,618 points during the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, according to
Sports Reference.com.
Jenner participated in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, West Germany, placing 10th in his first try at the decathlon.
