Bruce Jenner is facing a wrongful death lawsuit from the stepchildren of Kim Howe, the woman killed in a car crash in which Jenner was involved Feb. 7, according to a report.
Authorities declined to press charges against Jenner after it was confirmed he was not on drugs or alcohol when he became involved in the fatal crash. However, Howe’s two adult stepchildren have decided to
move forward with a wrongful death suit, TMZ reported, although it’s unclear if Howe even had a relationship with them.
“Howe has no direct relatives. Her husband died in 2003, and it appears her parents are deceased as well as other immediate blood relatives,” TMZ wrote. Howe’s money and assets, worth millions, were in a trust and designated to various charities.
A source told TMZ that Howe didn’t have a relationship with her step-children, neither of whom lived in California.
However, an attorney for
Howe’s stepdaughter told ET Online after the accident, “Mrs. Howe's stepdaughter had a very real relationship with her stepmother and is deeply saddened by her death. We leave it to the police to conduct their investigation and issue a report."
After the accident, Jenner put out a statement that said, “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time.”
Jenner’s Cadillac Escalade smashed into the Lexus Howe was driving as part of a chain reaction from backed-up traffic. Howe’s car spun into traffic and was hit by a Hummer.
