Bryant Gumbel and Jane Pauley are reuniting on the "Today" show this coming Monday, where they will sit-in as guest hosts alongside Matt Lauer.
Having anchored the NBC morning news program together for seven years, from 1982 to 1989, the pair's reunion appears to be a one-time event,
according to the Hollywood Reporter.
This isn't the first time Pauley and Gumbel have appeared on the "Today" show together since they parted ways more than 20 years ago.

In January 2012, while celebrating the show's 60th anniversary, they reunited on-air along with other past hosts and correspondents,

After having left the "Today" show in 1989, Pauley went on to host NBC's short-lived "Real Life with Jane Pauley" and become a deputy anchor for "NBC Nightly News. In 2004, Pauley returned with the syndicated daytime television talk show "The Jane Pauley Show," on which she discussed her ongoing battle with bipolar disorder. The show lasted only one season.
Though she is no longer the anchor, Pauley remains a part of the "Today" show where she highlights Americans who are embarking on new careers over the age of 50 in a segment called "Life Reimagined Today."
Gumbel, who is the brother of CBS sportscaster Greg Gumbel, left the "Today" show in 1997 and is currently a host on HBO's "Real Sports."
The same year in which Pauley left the "Today" show, Gumbel made news himself after an internal memo he wrote was leaked to the media in which he criticized he colleagues.

In the memo, Gumbel told "Today" producer Marty Ryan the longtime TV personality Willard Scott "holds the show hostage to his assortment of whims, wishes, birthdays and bad taste...This guy is killing us and no one's even trying to rein him in," while adding that movie critic Gene Shalit's reviews "are often late and his interviews aren't very good."
