Burke Ramsey, JonBenet's brother, will sit down with Dr. Phil in an interview that will kick off the 15th season of his talk show, which will air in September, according to his website.

The Boulder Daily Camera reported that the 6-year-old pageant contestant was found dead in the basement of her family home in Boulder, Colorado, on Dec. 26, 1996, making national headlines. Then-Boulder County District Attorney Alex Hunter announced in 1999 that no charges would be filed in the case because of a lack of evidence.

The grand jury investigating the case voted secretly to indict her parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, on charges of child abuse resulting in death and accessory to the crime. Hunter, though, refused to sign the indictment to prosecute, stated the Daily Camera.

Burke Ramsey, now 29, was JonBenet Ramsey's older brother, and has stayed out of the spotlight over the years. Dr. Phil's website stated that in its "exclusive interview," he will "reveal shocking, never-before-heard details about one of America's most talked about cold cases."

"Speaking out publicly for the first time, [Burke Ramsey] . . . reveals what he knows about his sister's mysterious murder in a ripped-from-the-headlines exclusive interview with Dr. Phil. After 20 years, it's finally time for answers," said a statement on Dr. Phil's website.

The interview with Burke Ramsey will air Sept. 12, 13, and 19.

Patsy Ramsey died from cancer in 2006, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Georgia native Mark Karr was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, after he issued a "confession" that he killed JonBenet Ramsey, but was cleared when DNA test found no connection to him and the girl's body, noted the newspaper.

Documents from the original Boulder County grand jury investigation were released in 2014 against the wishes of the Ramseys, according to their attorney, Hal Haddon. Haddon pointed out that District Attorney Mary Lacy, who succeeded Hunter, cleared the Ramseys as suspects based on DNA evidence and even wrote an apology letter to them.
