Bynes' Bipolar Tweet Retracted? Actress Backtracks — Kind of — on Posts

By    |   Tuesday, 04 November 2014 02:41 PM EST

Amanda Bynes' bipolar tweet, which confirmed the troubled actress' rumored diagnosis, was quickly followed up by another post Tuesday morning that appeared to backtrack on the original message.

It all started in the wee hours of Tuesday morning when Bynes went on a brief Twitter rant.

But things got murky a few hours later when the former Nickelodeon star tweeted the following message:

It's not clear whether Bynes meant to imply that someone else had posted the bipolar tweets.

Bynes, 28, has been on a downward spiral since last summer when she was first placed on a 5150 hold after setting a small fire in the driveway of a Los Angeles-area home. She was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and later moved to a fancy Malibu rehab center.

The actress seemed the be on the right path when she was released last December, attending classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and staying at her parents' California home.

But her recovery hit a few roadblocks recently after a September DUI arrest and a string of bizarre tweets in which she accused her father of sexually abusing her — a claim she later retracted and then made again. She was released last week from an involuntary psychiatric hold and is currently under a conservatorship, TMZ reported.

Twitter users expressed concern for Bynes.
