Carlos Lopez Jr., best known as the "Operation Repo" star, is dead in the latest of a string of apparent suicides to plague Hollywood.
The 35-year-old was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment Sunday night from what officials are calling a "self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head," Radar Online noted.
Officers and paramedics were alerted to a possible suicide and when they arrived at Lopez's South Hope Street apartment, they found the actor unresponsive.
The coroner's spokesman, Ed Winter, confirmed the incident to Deadline, noting that Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8 p.m.
Anonymous sources told TMZ that Lopez's roommate discovered the body on the balcony of their apartment and called 911.
Sources added that there was a suicide note, although this is yet to be confirmed. Toxicology reports are still pending.
Lopez was most well-known for his appearances in the last two seasons of "Operation Repo" on truTV, Deadline said.
In addition to several guest appearances on TV shows such as "CSI: Cyber" and "iCarly," the actor also dabbled in film with roles in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "American Made."
He was also a U.S. Army veteran, Deadline noted.
His parents posted a heartfelt message to Facebook mourning the loss of their son.
"Our handsome adventurous and loving son Carlos Jr. Left us for Heaven yesterday and our hearts are so heavy," the post said. "Keep our family and Carlos’s friend Ronnie Lee in your prayers please. We’ve lost our eldest son and military warrior."
His death comes shortly after the suicide of fashion icon Kate Spade, who is believed to have hung herself in her New York City apartment.
Earlier this month American TV celebrity and food writer Anthony Bourdain was also found dead from apparent suicide in his hotel room in France.
