At Sunday's ACM Awards, Carrie Underwood will perform her new single, which has not yet been released, marking the first time Underwood will publicly perform since a November fall that the singer said required 40 to 50 stitches in her face.
Underwood has not posted close-up pictures of her face since the fall outside her home, which also broke her wrist, and has said she does not look exactly the same as before the accident.
The new song is expected to be released online Wednesday, April 11 at 6 a.m., Entertainment Weekly reported. Underwood has posted pictures of herself rehearsing with her band on social media recently.
The singer is nominated for the Academy of Country Music Awards' Female Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the year for “The Fighter,” a collaboration with Keith Urban.
A December picture shared by a fan who ran into her at the gym showed Underwood cautiously smiling, with the fan Adrienne Gang commenting that she never knew Underwood was injured and that she was “adorable” and looked “amazing.”
Underwood, 35, released the single “Champion” with Ludacris earlier this year. The song was used as a promotional song for Super Bowl LII and the 2018 Winter Olympics.
