Carrie Underwood will be performing her new single "See You Again" during Wednesday night's CMT Music Awards in honor of Oklahoma's recent tornado victims.
In addition to serving as a somber memorial for those who lost their lives to the recent tornados, the performance will also encourage viewers to donate to the Red Cross to assist with relief efforts.
"
I just wanted to do something special for my family and friends who’ve been putting their lives back together," Underwood said Monday after rehearsal, Rolling Stone reported. "Tornado season is something that we're all used to but you can never fully prepare for it."

The Oklahoma native, who grew up 115 miles east of Oklahoma City, also donated $1 million to help with the post tornado relief effort.
"It takes what it wants and it knocks down what it wants and there's nothing you can do about it except just try to be prepared," Underwood added about such tornados. "They're just wonderful people and they're going to rebuild and they're going to bounce back stronger than ever."
The country music star, who rose to fame on Fox's "American Idol," will reportedly be joined by a 20-member choir during the performance.
"The choir, I've never done that before and they just kind of take it to a whole ethereal place," remarked Underwood.
The Oklahoma native joins several other country music stars that have or plan to donate their talents to raise funds for the tornado victims.
Singers Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, and Ronnie Dunn among others recently announced their intention to hold a concert for the tornado victims later this summer.
Shelton recently headlined a "Healing in the Heartland" benefit concert late last month that raised more than $6 million.
The money went directly to the United Way of Central Oklahoma and
will be distributed to agencies helping those affected by the May 20 tornado, the Associated Press reports.
