Casey Affleck attempted to carry a baseball bat onto a plane on Thursday, but it didn't work out so well for the Academy Award-winning actor.

Affleck was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport, rushing to make his flight, when TMZ attempted to engage with him.

“Are you gonna take a bat on the plane?” a representative from the gossip website called out as the actor made his way to the TSA line.

"Well, we are gonna find out,” Affleck said, which garnered snickers and laughter from members of the media.

“Actually you know what, I like that because you are providing security for the rest of the flight,” a journalist said, to which Affleck replied, “I hope so” before rushing off.

While Affleck seemed confident that security would wave him through, he was ultimately not able to board with his bat.

Affleck is known to play baseball, although it's not clear why exactly he was attempting to fly with the bat.

Appearing on a recent episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Affleck admitted to playing in a fast-pitch baseball league “for about 10 years.”

Affleck said he played third base for a team called “The Love," which left Kimmel in awe.

“Is it an actor’s league?” the host asked excitedly, but Affleck quickly dismissed him, saying, “No it’s not, there are a couple of actors on the team but it’s not an actor’s league.”

Affleck is best known for his roles in films such as “Gone Baby Gone” and “Ocean's Eleven.” He won the best actor Oscar last year for his part in "Manchester by the Sea."
