A Chinese man out walking his dog recently was knocked out cold by a cat plummeting from the balcony of a high-rise building — and the bizarre incident was captured on video. The cat was lucky to escape seemingly uninjured, although one of its nine lives likely has been used up.
Gao Fenghua, on the other hand, ended up in the hospital for 23 days, eventually being discharged last week, according to The Sun.
Surveillance footage of the incident in Harbin captures the exact moment the feline culprit drops onto Fenghua's head. The elderly man can be seen strolling along with his golden retriever when the cat hits him, knocking him unconscious.
Several bystanders walk by, ignoring the unconscious man. Fenghua's dog walks over to his owner and then sees the cat nearby.
The video, which has since gone viral, shows the dog going over to confront the cat. The two animals go face to face, with the dog lunging at the cat and the cat swiping at the dog.
The cat reportedly belongs to Fenghua's neighbor, and his family is seeking compensation for the accident. Fenghua will still have to undergo intensive physiotherapy before he is fully recovered.
