A chainsaw-carrying nun who ripped through Hurricane Irma's tree massacre in Miami went viral on Facebook.
The Miami-Dade Police Department posted the video and pictures of Sister Margaret Ann of Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School using a chainsaw to cut trees to clear a neighborhood roadway.
"Thank you Sister and all of our neighbors that are working together to get through this! #MiamiDadeStrong," wrote the police on the post.
Hurricane Irma knocked down trees, power lines and at least three cranes in South Florida, Fox News reported. The Federal Emergency Management Agency estimated that Irma destroyed some 25 percent of houses in the Florida Keys alone.
The Orlando Sentinel reported that some commenters worried that the nun's loose-fitting clothing while operating a chainsaw could present some danger.
The Archdiocese of Miami announced Tuesday evening that Catholic schools under its jurisdiction in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties will remain closed until further notice, the Sentinel said.
The chainsaw-swinging nun generated numerous comments on line.
