Chanel West Coast, star of MTV's reality show "Ridiculousness," was arrested outside of a Los Angeles nightclub on Tuesday after she allegedly got in a fight with another patron, and subsequently assaulted a cop.
TMZ obtained video footage of the arrest, and one of the cops can be heard telling Chanel that they were going to let her go home — even after she kicked him — but then she decided to punch him.
Cuffed and sitting on the sidewalk, Chanel tells her friend to shut up, and insults the cops. "I've been on TV for 17 seasons," she boasts, seemingly trying to use her fame to get out of the situation.
Sergeant Kevin Rasmussen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood Station
told People magazine that Chanel spent the night in the station, booked for battery, and was released around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
After the flap, Chanel, whose real name is Chelsea Chanel Dudley, tweeted photos of her bruised arms, saying that she was brutalized during the arrest.
"Can someone explain why a tiny 5'3 98lb (sic) women needs 2 men officers to hold her down and bruise her arms?????" she added.
"She was initially handcuffed by the [club] security people. It was security people that detained her, handcuffed her, placed her under arrest," Rasmussen explained.
"Basically, in citizen's arrest cases we are just like the transporting people. We go there say, 'Hey are you actually going to citizen's arrest them? Yes? Okay, here fill out the paper work.' Then we switch their handcuffs off, put ours on, bring them to jail and give them a place to sleep."
