Channing Tatum Spoofs Jean-Claude Van Damme's Split Commercial (Video)

Channing Tatum’s amusing spoof of Jean-Claude van Damme’s impressive Volvo split commercial has gone viral with almost 5 million YouTube views.

In jeans and a plaid shirt, blowing slightly in the wind, Tatum makes his split debut on two food carts on the “22 Jump Street” set. While the video begins with intense music and commentary, it doesn’t end with quite the same finesse that van Damme showed.

The comedic take on the larger-than-life Volvo stunt is garnering all sorts of praise from fans.

“This video has officially sold me on any movies Tatum appears in! I love it when actors have a sense of humor!” wrote one man on YouTube.

“That's hilarious! Gotta love the guys in the background coming out of the trailer, not sure if they should keep moving or stay put!” wrote another on an E! article on the spoof.

A few people online criticized the spoof as making fun of van Damme, but Tatum certainly seemed to see the fun in it. On Twitter he wrote:

At this point, it looks like at least five shots.

And lots of laughter from fans.

Remember, when you view the video, as it says at the end, “It was carried out by unprofessionals in an open unsupervised area.”

In other words, don’t try this at home. Or on the road.
