Best and Worst Airlines for Cheap Flights

Everyone likes saving money by finding cheap flights, but it can be tedious to find the bargains.

GoBankingRates set out to discover which are the best and worst airlines are for cheaper flights by conducting a survey that compared ticket prices for round-trip flights for one person from Los Angeles (LAX) to New York (JFK or LaGuardia).

Topping the list as the most expensive, and therefore the worst airline when it comes to saving money, was Alaska Airlines. A round-trip flight costs around $698. One carry-on bag and one personal item are allowed for free but it will cost passengers $25 to check a bag. 

The findings follow a report that Alaska Airlines, which dominated the Airline Quality Ranking in 2017 and 2018, dropped to fourth in 2019, according to Komo reported.

On the opposite end of the scale, GoBankingRates found that the cheapest airline was Frontier Airlines. A round-trip flight costs $378 however, baggage fees vary greatly.  Here is a look at all the best and worst airlines for cheap flights, according to GoBankingRates:
