Chris Brown Faces $3M Claim in Frank Ocean Parking Lot Brawl

New details have emerged in the lawsuit against Chris Brown stemming from a parking lot brawl with R&B singer Frank Ocean earlier this year, and now it looks like Brown could be facing more than $3 million in damages.

Brown, the 24-year-old hip-hop singer notorious for beating up former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, reportedly got into a physical fight with Ocean and his cousin, Sha'keir M. Duarte, over a parking spot at a Los Angeles recording studio in January.

According to Spin magazine, Duarte filed suit against Brown and a member of the singer's entourage in August for battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and conspiracy to commit battery. The lawsuit accuses Brown of instructing his bodyguard to attack Duarte.

Brown then countersued in November, claiming that Duarte threatened to kill him.

Now, newly obtained court documents detail just exactly what Duarte is asking for.

According to TMZ, he wants $1 million for pain, suffering, and inconvenience; $1 million for emotional distress; $1 million for punitive damages; and another $60,000 for medical expenses.

Brown, who was arrested on felony assault charges in October for an unrelated fight in Washington, D.C., entered a rehab facility in late October. Though there was no indication that he had substance abuse issues, some say he elected to go to treatment in hopes that it would have a positive impact on his court proceedings for the D.C. fight. He was discharged in November and is doing community service and attending outpatient treatment, The Associated Press reported.

"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," his representative said in a statement at the time. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."
