The Los Angeles Police Department is checking to see if music bad boy
Chris Brown violated his probation during an alleged hit-and-run.
What is not in dispute is that Brown, on probation for the 2009 assault of then girlfriend
and singer Rihanna, was involved in a minor fender bender accident in Los Angeles last week, where it appears that Brown was at fault. The 24-year-old hit a Mercedes with his Range Rover while en route to a recording studio. He and girlfriend Karrueche Tran were seen taking photos of the incident and talking with the other driver.

After that, the facts are as clear as mud.
TMZ first reported that Brown was uncooperative at the scene of the accident, failed to give driver's license information to the other driver involved, gave false insurance information and left the scene. The action could result in a hit-and-run violation, which could get Brown's probation revoked.
Brown has disputed the report to TMZ, saying he has cooperated and gave all correct information at the scene, but when his attorney tried to reach the other driver, she hung up on him and has declined to return his phone calls.
Los Angeles police were not called to the scene but TMZ reported that they are now investigating the accident. Brown said the LAPD has not contacted him or his attorney about the accident.
Last month, the
singer's probation came into question after prosecutors accused him of failing to complete his 180 hours of community labor after he pleaded guilty. He has a court date scheduled for June 10.
This is the latest in a string of controversies for the top-selling R&B singer. Along with the assault on Rihanna, in 2012 he was involved in a fight with rapper Drake and his entourage during an incident in New York City that injured San Antonio Spurs basketball star Tony Parker. Each man claimed the other started the incident.
In January, Los Angeles authorities were called to the scene of a fight involving Brown and singer Frank Ocean over a parking spot. Ocean declined to file charges in the matter.
