Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael went to prom this weekend suited up in a pink shirt and bearing a pink corsage to
take 18-year-old Taylor Kirkwood to the big dance, Click2Houston reported.
Kirkwood’s mother, Stacie Holmes,
contacted Michael about taking her daughter, who is autistic, to the event, Holmes told ESPN. She wasn’t sure he would be able to, but the NFL player cleared his schedule to go. In addition, ESPN said, as they talked, it was discovered Michael went to school with Holmes’ cousin.

"I'm just here for Taylor," Michael told Click2Houston. "It's a blessing. Like I said, she's a beautiful kid. I'm very proud of her."
Kirkwood has struggled with scoliosis, which required surgery in the last couple of years, Click2Houston said. Because of that, Kirkwood’s family wanted to do whatever they could to make the night special.
"I think he's cute," Kirkwood told Click2Houston. “I’m so happy to go dance and have a good time.”
Kirkwood told ESPN she was excited to go to the dance with Michael.
“After my teacher showed me the picture [of Michael], my eyes just lit up," Kirkwood told ESPN.
Michael wasn’t the only NFL player going to prom over the weekend, ESPN reported. Luke Willson, a Seahawks tight end, accepted an invitation from Stephanie Dufour when he was speaking at her school in March.
When Dufour asked Willson, she explained that she wanted a “hotter” date than all of her friends, ESPN said.
Outside the football arena, many kids ask their favorite stars to go to prom, and some get lucky enough to score the date of the year. Justin Bieber couldn’t make a prom date so he invited the girl, Cady Eimer of Virginia, along with her sister to be his dates to the Billboard Awards. In the '90s, singer Brandy accepted a prom invite from none other than Kobe Bryant, who back then was just an
“up and coming basketball player,” Yahoo said.
