Clara Harris walked out of prison a free woman Friday after serving 15 years of her 20-year prison sentence for running over her husband.

The Lake Jackson, Texas, dentist was found guilty of murder after she drove her car over her husband, David Harris, three times in the parking lot of the Hilton Nasa Clear Lake in Nassau Bay on July 24, 2002, NBC affiliate KPRC-TV reported.

The attack came amid fears that her husband of 10 years was having an affair with his former employee.

Clara Harris hired a private investigator to look into the matter, which led to her confronting David Harris and his mistress in a hotel lobby.

The escalating fight moved into the parking lot, where it ended after Clara Harris hopped into her Mercedes-Benz, in which her step-daughter was sitting at the time, and drove the vehicle over her husband, KTRK-TV noted.

The act was caught on camera by the private investigator that Cara Harris originally hired, and her step-daughter later testified against her in court.

Last year Cara Harris was granted parole but, as part of her release, she will be required to adhere to several conditions.

She will have to remain under supervision for the remainder of her 20-year sentence, which ends on Feb. 10, 2023, and she cannot leave the Greater Houston area, KPRC-TV said.

Cara Harris will have to stay employed, wear an electronic monitoring device on her ankle and undergo regular drug and alcohol testing.

She was also ordered to not contact any members of the Harris family or her husband's former mistress.

Cara Harris' former defense attorney George Parnham said he wished she had been released sooner.

"She's bright and she will land on her own two feet," he said, per KHOU.

"She has a support system in her community should she choose to live here."
