Which of the popular chains have the cleanest fast-food restaurants? That's a good question that many Americans want to know the answer to or already have an opinion about. The fast-food industry is booming and many brands are scrambling to clean up their act — literally.
Eager to determine which of the top fast-food chains had the cleanest restaurants, Business Insider polled more than 3,000 customers to find the answer. The report, released on Tuesday, listed Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out, and Starbucks as some of the top choices. On the opposite end of the scale, McDonald's, Burger King, and Subway only received a 10% vote of confidence.

7. Whataburger. 11% of people surveyed said Whataburger had the cleanest restaurants.
