'Clueless' Reunion: Alicia Silverstone Joins 'Bettys' From 1995 Hit

Actress Alicia Silverstone and her "Bettys" from the 1995 hit teen movie "Clueless" came together Tuesday for a special pre-festival screening for the Los Angeles Film Festival, but don't expect a sequel.

Rumors of a "Clueless" sequel, which turned "my bad" and "as if" into popular catchphrases, has been around since 2009, according to The Star. Silverstone in an earlier interview on MSN's Wonder Wall said that while she would be open to it, that she believes the audience – and the characters – have likely moved on.

"I'm game for whatever Amy (Heckerling, 'Clueless' director) has in store," Silverstone, 37, said in the interview. "I think that time has passed, though. I don't even know what Cher would be up to these days."

It was all laughs at the Nokia Theater Tuesday when Silverstone, who played the movie's lead as sheltered Beverly Hills rich girl Cher Horowitz, joined costars Stacey Dash and Elisa Donovan at the film festival pre-festival screening, according to the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper said they were joined by Heckerling, producer Stephanie Allain and costume designer Mona May.

"I thought I was channeling Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball," Silverstone said at the event, reported Us Weekly. "And obviously that wasn't the case. But I just felt like that. Especially when I pushed (the character Elton played by Jeremy Sisto) off (of me at a house party). Those were the things that I found lovely."

Heckerling, whose directing credits include episodes for "Suburgatory," "The Carrie Diaries" and "Gossip Girl," said at the screening that she had an instant connection with Silverstone after seeing her in a music video.

"I am so lucky that they were all out there at the time," Heckerling said. "I saw the 'Cryin' video for Aerosmith and when Alicia gave the finger, I said, 'There's my girl.' We met and I just loved her immediately."

Dash, 47, said filming "Clueless" was "so much fun" and that Heckerling's leadership gave the cast the perfect roadmap into their character's psyche.

"(Heckerling) had such a clear vision and she was able to translate it to us perfectly," Dash said.
