The Coen brothers have contracted with Netflix to offer a six-part Western anthology series, “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.”

The series will be written and directed by the director brothers and will come to Netflix in 2018, Rolling Stone reported. Tim Blake Nelson, who co-starred in the Coen brothers’ movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” will play Buster Scruggs in the series.

“The Western anthology will feature six tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter will feature a distinct story about the American West,” Netflix said, Rolling Stone reported.

In addition to “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”, the Coen brothers previously made other Western-inspired movies including 2010’s “True Grit” and 2007’s “No Country for Old Men,” which won the Oscar for Best Picture. This is their first small-screen and streaming project. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2017/08/09/coen-brothers-netflix-battle-of-buster-scruggs-tv/551467001/

The brothers also produced an ode to '50s Hollywood “Hail, Caesar!;” “Unbroken,” directed by Angelina Jolie; “Bridge of Spies,” directed by Steven Spielberg; and “Suburbicon,” directed by George Clooney.

“The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists. We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents,” Netflix VP of Original Content Cindy Holland said, Rolling Stone reported.

“We are streaming motherf***ers!” the Coen brothers said in a statement after Netflix’s announcement.
