San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Expected to Draw Stars, Huge Crowd

Comic-Con 2013 continues to make nerdy cool, and this year more than 125,000 people are expected to pour into San Diego, often dressed in costume as their favorite super heroes, the USA Today said.

Since it launched in 1970, Comic-Con grows more fantastic fantasy every year. Big stars attend promoting their latest projects. Expect to see "The Wolverine"’s Hugh Jackman, Sandra Bullock for her new sci-fi drama Gravity (which is out in October), and numerous other movie stars put in appearances at the show, USA Today said.

The four-day event has grown way beyond its initial beginnings where the focus was comic books.

Today, attendees need a “plan of attack” to get to see all the amazing things at the show, CNN said, breaking down what the critical must-see things are. The only possible way to see everything would be to forego sleep for the four days, but given that that’s almost impossible, Con-goers can check out Comic-Con’s website for program scheduling

Fans can enjoy the 20th anniversary celebration of "The X-Files," featuring the TV show’s stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, along with top movie pulls like "Divergent" and "Ender’s Game," CNN said. "Doctor Who" fans can catch a glimpse of former Doctor Who Matt Smith, attending as part of the show’s 50th anniversary.

When they’re not straining for a glimpse of Joss Whedon (yes, he’s there promoting his ABC series "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Comic-Con fans will have plenty of booths to entertain them. Entertainment Weekly highlighted the “mega booths,” with a photo tour through the expo featuring the brilliantly colored Nickelodeon booth, the popular TV show “Walking Dead,” and Marvel.
