A dad recently disowned his daughter via a scathing letter after she kicked her son out of her home for being gay, and now the Internet is cheering on the compassionate grandpa.
FCKH8, a pro-gay youth organization, posted the letter on its Facebook page Monday and it soon went viral.

Here's what is says:
Dear Christine,
I’m disappointed in you as a daughter. You're correct that we have a "shame in the family," but mistaken about what it is.
Kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real "abomination" here. A parent disowning her child is what goes "against nature."
The only intelligent thing I heard you saying in all this was that "you didn’t raise your son to be gay." Of course you didn’t. He was born this way and didn't choose it any more than he being left-handed. You however, have made a choice of being hurtful, narrow-minded, and backward. So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I'll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gays put it) grandson to raise, and I don’t have time for heart-less B-word of a daughter.
If you find your heart, give us a call.
— Dad
"The teen who sent this in has one of our 'Some Dudes Marry Dudes' T-shirts and we are going to be sending his grandpa a free 'Straight Against Hate' tee for being such an awesome example and inspiring so many even though it was by accident,"
Luke Montgomery, a FCKH8 spokesperson, told Yahoo! Shine.
Many people tweeted about and commented on the story on Facebook, criticizing the mother for disowning her son just for being gay.
"How hard it must be for this man to know his daughter was so horrible to her child I'm thankful he is there for his grandson, but my heart goes out to their entire family, love should never split a family apart," one person commented on Facebook.
"I hear stories like this and I just can't fathom how anyone could do this to their child," another said. "You are supposed to love your children without reservation. You are the one who is always supposed to be on their side and defend and support them. I hope that 'Christine' can someday figure out what is important in this world."
A similar coming out story made headlines earlier this year after another posting on FCKH8's Facebook page. This one was from a father who had overheard his son contemplating how to reveal his sexuality to his parents.
"I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me," the letter read. "The only thing I need you to plan is to bring home OJ and bread after class. We are out, like you now. I've known you were gay since you were six, I've loved you since you were born. PS: Your mom and I think you and Mike make a cute couple."
