Damon Wayans took to Twitter on Monday night to allege that fired “Lethal Weapon” co-star Clayne Crawford was abusive to him and others on the show’s set during his tenure.
Wayans showed an injury he said he received on set while Crawford was directing, as well as a sticker that was found on set that referred to Crawford as an “emotional terrorist.”
“He became UNINSURABLE!” Wayans alleged in the tweets, USA Today reported, noting Wayans' Twitter account was not active as of Tuesday morning. “Relished in making female(s) cry. And (struck) fear in cast and crew.”
“He hit another actor in the mouth with a bottle of green tea and busted his mouth open,” he posted further, tagging actor Lance Henriksen, who has not commented on the incident.
Crawford previously said he willingly went through “studio-appointed therapy” and apologized for the incidents that took place while he was in charge as a guest director.
Neither Wayans, Crawford, nor Henriksen commented on any of the tweets and posts, USA Today reported.
“Lethal Weapon” was renewed for a third season but Seann William Scott will join the cast in place of Crawford, whose character Riggs will be retired, Deadline repoted.
Crawford congratulated the “Lethal Weapon” cast and crew on the renewal and thanked them and the fans for the experience.
Fox’s co-chairman Dana Walden said Monday that Fox had not decided to let Crawford go, but that Warner Bros. said “they could not deliver the show as it was,” Deadline reported.
