Danny DeVito is the newest member of British boy band One Direction, at least if the group's latest music video is any indication.
DeVito, an Emmy and Golden Globe award winner and current star of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," landed a cameo role in One Direction's new video for the song "Steal My Girl" off their upcoming album "Four," which
comes out Nov. 17, Billboard.com reported. And, judging by photos posted on Twitter last week, the actor had a blast doing it.
"The quintet — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payn, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson – filmed the accompanying short film for 'Steal My Girl' in Los Angeles recently and got the
69-year-old actor to take part," the Daily Mail reported.
"New photos show Danny — who plays a music video director — surrounded by the guys as he gives them orders in the middle of a blazing hot desert."
Ben Winston, who directed the video, told the Daily Mirror that shooting turned out successfully.
"It's quite an exciting video," he said. "You should expect the unexpected on this one. It's weird and wonderful."
The buzz around DeVito's participation in the video was mostly positive.
