Dave Chappelle and Jon Stewart, both former Comedy Central stars, announced a joint stand-up tour that will run through Boston, Houston and El Paso in June, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
The magazine said the two last joined forces last August when Stewart, former host of "The Daily Show," made a surprise appearance during Chappelle's performance at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
The duo will perform at Boston's Wang Theatre July 11-13, at the Smart Financial Centre in Houston June 21-23, and then at El Paso's Chavez Theatre June 22-24, according to Rolling Stone.
The magazine said that in an effort discourage scalpers and bots, tickets will be available only through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan platform Wednesday through Friday.
Chappelle, former host of "Chappelle's Show," recently released four Netflix specials, including the Grammy Award-winning "The Age of Spin & Deep in the Heart of Texas," noted Rolling Stone.
Before his Netflix deal, Chappelle had walked away from a $50 million deal in 2005 to continue his hit Comedy Central show, citing fatigue, a loss of creative control, and discomfort with the material, CNN reported.
"Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital and now more than ever, essential," Lisa Nishimura, Netflix's vice president of original documentary and comedy said in 2016, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The politically charged Stewart, who often criticized conservatives and Fox News during his time at "The Daily Show," which wrapped up in 2015, announced last year he will do two HBO stand-up specials.
The Hollywood Reporter reported then that the shows were part of a four-year production deal with HBO and it will mark the first time Stewart has done stand-up since his 1996 HBO special "Jon Stewart: Unevened."
"We've all missed his uniquely thoughtful brand of humor," HBO's programming president Casey Bloys said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Added Stewart: "I'm really thrilled to be able to return to stand-up on HBO. They've always set the standard for great stand-up specials. Plus, I can finally use up the last of the Saddam Hussein jokes left over from my first special."
