Delivery Guy Gets $10 Tip for 85 Pizzas, a $1,450 order; Internet Erupts

In the latest instance of noteworthy restaurant receipts leaked online, Reddit users on Tuesday bashed a customer who left a delivery guy a measly $10 tip for an order that included 85 pizzas, totaling $1,453.

A photo of the receipt was posted on Reddit by user Jfastman Tuesday, with the caption, "My friend delivered 85 pizzas today and got a $10 tip."

Many users criticized the unidentified customer, saying, "The delivery guy deserved more" and "$10 is a miserable tip for that amount of food."

Though tipping culture generally dictates a 15-20 percent tip, some people don't follow the unwritten rule.

"Although tipping is an accepted custom in the United States, there is a lot of confusion over when, how much to give, and to whom," Michael Lynn, Ph.D., "tipping expert" and professor at Cornell's School of Hotel Administration, told Yahoo! Shine.

Posting photos of customers' lack of tip on receipts have become a trend on social media. In November, another photo made the rounds, showing a slip for a $138.35 bill with "single mom, sorry" written in under the tip.

A few months ago, customers at a New Jersey Applebee's used their receipt to insult the waitress: "Stop eating b****!" the note said.

Most recently, a St. Louis pastor stiffed an Applebee's server who included automatic gratuity on a bill for a large party.

"I give God 10%. Why do you get 18?" the customer scribbled, before writing "Pastor" above the signature. A fellow waitress snapped a photo of the bill and uploaded it to Reddit. She was fired when the customer complained to management.
