MTV reality show star Diem Brown died Friday after losing her hard-fought third battle with of cancer. She was 32.
Known for her appearance on multiple seasons of "Real World/Road Rules Challenge," Brown fought ovarian cancer twice and, in recent months, discovered that she had cancer in her stomach and colon, which then spread to her
liver and lymph nodes, People reported.
As recently as Tuesday, Brown was tweeting for prayers and trying to stay hopeful.
She shared her cancer fight on a People blog that ran through
February 2013, and also founded MedGift, a support site for people with illnesses.
In a February 2013 blog, Brown wrote about getting the call that she was cancer-free.
"That first breath you let out when you get good news feels almost stolen," she wrote. "Your entire body gets weak as if you were holding up this 100-lb. weight over your head and you've finally been told you could drop it. You feel free! Absolutely freaking free!"
When Brown found out in October that the cancer she was fighting had spread, she told People, "That was a shocker to me. I was blown away. It really crushed a little bit of my spirit."
Yet she also shared a positive attitude. "It's my personal perspective that you live as hard and as vigorously as you can," she told People. "My goals are something I believe in, because I believe I'm going to make it."
The people who followed Brown’s journey went online as news of her death spread Friday.
