Dominic Cizauskas, an 18-year-old University of Wisconsin football recruit, has been charged with a felony sex crime after he allegedly raped a UW-Madison student in her dorm room late last year.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports Cizauskas, of Mukwonago, Wisc., was charged Monday with third-degree sexual assault after allegedly showing up at the victim’s room while visiting the campus late Dec. 14. The complaint against Cizauskas indicated he and the victim had exchanged text messages before the encounter.

The victim reportedly told police in February that she had had consensual sex with Cizauskas early last summer but since then had made excuses to not have sex with him again.
According to the Journal, she said the 6-foot-2, 250-pound linebacker had walked into her unlocked dorm room sometime after 12:30 a.m. while she was studying for a final exam on Dec. 14 and that he raped her and left her room at about 2 a.m., later claiming in a text message that she had agreed to have sex with him.
Cizauskas, a linebacker, committed to the UW Badger football program in June and was supposed to be part of the 2014 recruiting class.
Officials from the school cannot comment on Cizauskas because of NCAA rules, however UW football coach Gary Andersen said on signing day last month that he was hopeful that Cizauskas would still sign with the Wisconsin program, the Journal reported.
Cizauskas was suspended from the Mukwonago High School basketball team last month for an “unspecified violation of the school’s athletic code.” He was later allowed to return to the team and played in the state basketball tournament last week.
The teen appeared in court on Monday and then was released on a signature bond. He is scheduled to be back in court March 31.
