Donatella Versace made a splash at the Met Gala 2014 in Manhattan Monday night, but not for the reason she probably wanted. Whether from exhaustion or whatever, her weary appearance had tongues wagging.
The 59-year-old fashion designer, sister to the late Gianni Versace, apparently didn't look her best at the Metropolitan Museum's annual fundraising that hosted an array of Hollywood celebrities and fashion world elites.
Versace's appearance quickly became the subject of several articles,
with the Daily Mail's Maria Lewis writing, "Her stylish white pants suit did little to distract from her weary and exhausted appearance," while
Yahoo's The Hype wrote, "The Versace mogul shocks onlookers with a puffy, lined face."

Twitter descriptions of the Italian fashion designer were less kind, with several comparing Versace to a character on the HBO series "Game of Thrones" known as a "white walker," which
according to IMDB.com was a mythological race that "killed all in their path, [while] reanimating the dead."
Perhaps the most cruel description of Versace, however, came from fashion critic and comedian Joan Rivers, who ten years ago sniped, "She has the kind of face that, in Africa, you'd skin and nail up outside your door,"
ContactMusic.com reported.
Versace, who is the current Vice President of the Versace Group, as well as the company's chief designer, is the subject of
the 2013 Lifetime film "House of Versace," which chronicles her fall and rise after the murder of her brother, who was killed by serial killer Andrew Cunanan outside his Miami mansion in 1997.
