Doritos Loaded: Melted Cheese-Stuffed Snack Product Tested

By    |   Tuesday, 11 February 2014 06:35 PM EST

A new product, Doritos Loaded, is being tested in a few Washington, D.C., 7-Eleven stores. They're being likened to Doritos-covered mozzarella sticks.

Store customer Kevin Cobb uploaded photos of the cheesy goodness.

“They tasted like Nacho Cheese Doritos dipped in queso,” Cobb told Yahoo Food in an email. “The smell was awesome and distinctly Dorito-y.”

Yahoo got confirmation from 7-Eleven that Doritos Loaded is “a product that is in test,” but a rep added, “It’s just too soon to really talk about it.”

But a 7-Eleven store employee was a little more informative, saying Doritos Loaded came to the 1100 Vermont Ave. store in Washington, D.C., about two weeks ago, and is also in a couple of other stores in the area.

Doritos offers products besides chips, including Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos, which is the chain’s most popular product ever, Yahoo said.

If online reaction is anything to go by, Doritos may have its next big hit.

Junk Food Guy, though, wasn’t a fan of the new Doritos product after he tried them, though to be fair it, he said it did seem as if the ones he tried had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time.
