"Duck Dynasty" star Silas Merritt "Si" Robertson had to be rushed to hospital after a hunting accident.
The 76-year-old suffered a fall while on a hunting trip in Arkansas, according to "Duck Call Room" podcast hosts Justin Martin and Phillip McMillan, who recalled the incident to listeners.
Robertson was in a rush to get off the boat when he fell.
"Typical Silas Robertson, he's in a dang hurry to get out of the boat and into the Polaris, he fell," Martin said, according to People. "He fell trying to get out of the boat ... it's steep right there."
Martin explained that Robertson "went to take a long step instead of waiting on us," adding that the reality star hit his oxygen tank during the fall. However, Robertson bounced "right back up."
"He didn't want anybody to see that he fell. The problem is you're covered in mud now, like we know you fell," Martin said.
Although Robertson reassured those around him that he was "fine," his behavior raised some concerns.
"We get back to the clubhouse, and breakfast is done and we're looking up and there's no Si. He's just sitting outside in the cold. I immediately thought he had a concussion because it was out of character," Martin said.
"He was real quiet, another red flag … no stories."
McMillan recalled learning Robertson had been taken to the hospital, saying, "My heart just dropped." Upon arrival at the hospital, McMillan said he expected to find Robertson "laughing and talking."
"[But] no, he said, 'Man, I'm in a lot of pain.' He said, 'I fell duck hunting and I think I broke some ribs.' He always thinks it's worse than it is," McMillan said.
X-rays and blood work came back showing everything was "good," McMillan added.
"No broken ribs, bruised ribs," he said.
"I could tell you. I think Si got so nervous and so worked up that he kinda started having like [a] mini panic attack," Martin noted, which caused Robertson to not breathe properly. In September 2022 Robertson suffered another health scare when he had surgery on his lungs after struggling with breathing issues, which he linked to smoking, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and complications from COVID-19.
He shared a positive update on Instagram at the time, saying he was "ready to get back at it."
Robertson, who lives in West Monroe with his wife, Christine, was prominent in all 11 seasons of "Duck Dynasty" during its five-year run. In 2006, he landed his own A&E spinoff, "Going Si-Ral," where he delivered humorous reactions to viral internet videos.
In 2008, he toured with his daughter-in-law, Marsha Robertson and singer-songwriter Bridgette Tatum, performing with their country band, Uncle Si & The Sicotics. He later began hosting the "Duck Call Room" podcast.
