The Oregon Ducks’ new football uniforms give the college players a weird resemblance to their mascot "Puddles." Time will tell if that strikes fear or laughter in the hearts of their opponents.
(Trigger warning for retired NFL linebackers with weak hearts: Social media embeds below contain pics of the nontraditional outfits.)
Oregon’s football team is known for pulling off some crazy looks with their uniform choices (think glow in the dark), but this one takes the cake as they’ll be sporting orange duck-beak-like face masks and orange shoes in their game this weekend, the Washington Post chuckled.
Oregon's tradition of flaunting photos of their uniforms each week before games comes before Saturday's contest against Colorado, CBS Sports noted, but it's the first time the Ducks have had such a way-out look, scoffed The Spun, wondering if the idea is all that it's quaked up to be.
Along with the colorful face masks and the shoes, the uniforms feature white helmets with a green “O,” green and yellow jerseys, white pants, white gloves, and orange socks.
Oregon fans can expect to be watching 12 mascots on the field, said one wag.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell nearly broke the Internet when he released the first look at the uniforms, and then Oregon followed up with some exclusive shots of its own.
