Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev: Boston Brothers ID'd; From Chechnya, Kyrgyzstan?

Dzhokar (or Dzhokhar) Tsarnaev remains at large while his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev has been killed in the massive manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

The suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing are two brothers with connections to Chechnya, according to NBC News and the Associated Press. Dzhokar Tsarnaev, 19, remains at large and reportedly has a Massachusetts driver's license.

According to the AP, the Tsarnaev brothers have lived in the United States for at least a year, and NBC reports they were residents of Cambridge, Mass. The Tsarnaev brothers were here as legal permanant residents, according to NBC.

NBC reported that questions remain whether the Tsarnaev brothers were of Russian or Chechnyan descent.

Both men had international ties, and had military experience, according to the reports.

UPDATE: NBC News has reported that while the Tsarnaev brothers were not born in Chechnya, their father worked in the country. Tamerlan, the suspect who was killed overnight, was reportedly born in Russia and his brotehr Dzhokar (also spelled in some reports as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev) was born in Kyrgyzstan.

The Boston Globe is reporting that the family moved to the United States in 2002 or 2003, seeking asylum. The Globe also reported that Dzhokar Tsarnaev received a scholarship from Cambridge.

All residents of Boston were ordered to stay in their homes Friday morning as the search for the surviving suspect in the marathon bombings continued after a long night of violence that left another suspect dead, the Associated Press reported. 

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis made the announcement that the entire city should stay indoors at a news conference where Gov. Deval Patrick said the remaining suspect, described as a dangerous terrorist, was still on the loose.

The developments came after the suspects killed an MIT police officer overnight, injured a transit officer in a firefight and threw explosive devices at police during their getaway attempt, authorities said as the manhunt intensified.
