Actress Elizabeth Banks did something Thursday few can lay a claim to: She lit the world’s largest Lego Christmas tree.
Held at Legoland California Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., the 11th annual tree lighting ceremony featured a
30-foot-tall Lego Christmas tree with more than 11,000 lights, CBS News reported. Made with more than 245,000 forest green Duplo bricks, the tree has about 400 Lego ornaments decorating it.

The program, held in the park’s Fun Town area, was also an occasion for Banks, a mother of two, to make a presentation to a program serving children and to promote an upcoming film.
Banks currently stars as Effie Trinket in one of the highest-grossing films this year, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." She presented a $10,000 check from Legoland to the City of Los Angeles' Better Educated Students for Tomorrow (BEST) program, an after-school initiative that provides safe and monitored enrichment, education, and recreation opportunities for elementary school children ages 5 to 12.
Banks voices "Wyldstyle" in "The Lego Movie," a 3D animated film that is scheduled for release on Feb. 7, 2014.
