Emerald White, whose four pit bulls attacked and killed a Texas neighbor's 10-year-old beagle back in October, is now suing the dead dog's owners for $1 million,
according to the Galveston Daily News.
White is claiming in her lawsuit that she was "seriously injured" when she was "unexpectedly and viciously attacked" entering the neighbors' backyard in Texas City to get her four pit bulls that had climbed through a hole in a fence that separates their properties and were attacking the neighbors' dog, reported the Daily News.
White claimed in the lawsuit that she suffered "multiple serious bite and scratch-type injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment," and alleges "conscious pain and suffering and now suffers also from fear anxiety and trepidation" from the "unprovoked attack."
Neighbor Steve Baker told the Daily News that their beagle Bailey was "shaken like a rag doll" and mauled by White's four pit bulls and he is stunned to now be sued by White.
"I couldn't believe it," Baker told the newspaper. "Everyone was telling me to sue her, but I decided not to because it won’t bring Bailey back. The police took the action I wanted and declared those dogs dangerous and awareness was raised; so I decided to let it go. Now they're suing me for $1 million – I just can't believe it."
Many on social media don't see much merit in White's lawsuit and are supportive of Baker while lamenting the passing of Bailey.
