"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" actress Emma Stone said she has gained enough confidence to shake off hateful comments written online about her and her work, but she admitted that sometimes the mean comments still hurt.
Stone opened up to Seventeen about becoming comfortable in her own skin.

"Sometimes it's really easy to shrug it off and other times, things have pinched more," Stone said. "I think most of us are like that, right? Someone lobs a snide remark your way, and sometimes you can laugh about it, while other times you can actually feel the sting."
Stone, 25, said that she has coped with critics by gaining self-confidence.
"I'm actively working hard on learning to appreciate yourself no matter what," Stone told Seventeen. "If what someone else says can easily derail you, it means your sense of self isn't that firmly established in the first place. It's an inside job. You're beautiful and worthy and totally unique. People insult each other based on their own insecurities — even though it may feel personal, it really never is."
Stone said to Seventeen that she embraced her Gwen Stacy character in "Spider-Man." She plays the brainy, self-assured girlfriend of Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
"Gwen has a clarity that I love," Stone said. "It's really inspiring. She's less anxious than I am. I make decisions from my gut and if my gut is unclear, I overthink things and question myself. I aspire to be more like Gwen every day."
E! News reported Tuesday that Stone has agreed to star in a new Woody Allen film with Joaquin Pheonix. The film is scheduled to start shooting in July. Stone recently finished shooting Allen's "Magic in the Moonlight," which is set to hit theaters July 25.
"Magic in the Moonlight," a romantic comedy, also stars Colin Firth and Marcia Gay Harden. Details about Allen's new film with Stone and Phoenix is being kept under wraps, E! News reported.
