A Missouri man who took his young son out for a Father's Day meal Sunday was shocked to find his restaurant receipt contained a profanity-laced insult.
Joe Gibson and his 3-year-old son dined at Friendly's Sports Bar & Grill in St. Louis without issue over the weekend, so he was surprised when the bill came and included a line that read "F—ing needy kids."
Gibson posted a photo of the receipt on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Facebook page and claimed when he confronted the server about it, all he got was
"Oh, I'm sorry. It was just a joke between a coworker and I."

Denny Domachowski, owner of Friendly's, said that his employees use the line items on the receipt to communicate special orders to the kitchen staff.
"Normally, those [kitchen] instructions are
cleared off the bill before it's printed out and given to the customer," he told the Post-Dispatch. "But, obviously, they weren't. I can understand why the gentleman was upset, and that's why I apologize."
Though Domachowski admitted what happened was wrong, he said Gibson was making a "mountain out of a molehill" and shouldn't have even been at the restaurant with his son.
"Normally, we don't let anyone in who's under 21," Domachowski said. "But the guy said he was with his kid for Father's Day, so I said 'Sure.'"
Gibson understands that "accidents can happen" but said more steps should be taken to prevent them from happening again.
"If it happened to me, it could happen again," he said. "What else are they writing about other people?"
