Country singers Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler are teaming up on a new Nashville lifestyle talk show that will focus on cooking, entertaining, and home design.
Hill, though, won't spend much time in front of the camera for the as-yet unnamed show. Instead, she's taking on the executive producer role, working with former
"Oprah" producer Lisa Erspamer, Billboard reported.
"American Idol" veteran Pickler, though, will co-host the show with one or two other people, who have not yet been named, the entertainment publication said.
"This is a woman who has
so many talents," Hill said on her website of Pickler. "Kellie is smart, compassionate, funny, quick-witted, and has a heart for service — the work she’s done with the USO and our service men and women is no secret. She possesses the ability to reach far beyond the camera and into the hearts of people, allowing you to feel immediately connected to her. There was no question in my mind that she should be a big part of this show."
Erspamer raved in the website release about the talents Hill brings to the project, as well: "Faith is the embodiment of talent, beauty, family values, and southern charm. She is an incredibly savvy businesswoman and viewers will see firsthand what everyone she has worked with already knows . . . they will see a woman with extraordinary taste, skills and instinct behind the camera."
The show, expected to launch in fall 2016 or in 2017, won't be focused on celebrities, Erspamer told Billboard, but instead will "focus on personal anecdotes rather than front-page gossip: more 'Live With Kelly and Michael' and less 'The View.'"
Pickler is already on CMT with a reality show, "I Love Kellie Pickler," which
the singer told Rolling Stone would be a mix of Lucille Ball and "Friends." It premiers Nov. 5.
