Farrah Abraham's 'Futurama' Lips a Cosmetic Surgery Comedy

By    |   Thursday, 08 January 2015 07:37 AM EST

Farrah Abraham compared herself to "Futurama" animated character Leela and her protruding upper lip after the former star of the reality series "Teen Mom" had a botched lip injection procedure.

Abraham, 23, has admitted to plastic surgery enhancements in the past that included a nose job, chin and breast implants, according to Us Weekly. On Tuesday, she revealed photos of her lips from the lip procedure on Twitter.

"A source tells Us Weekly that Abraham was trying a new procedure, in which the doctor puts an implant in your lip," said Us Weekly. "She had researched it and went to a specialist in California. However, the doctor injected her with an anesthetic before the procedure, and she seems to have had a major reaction to it. Abraham will be using Tabasum Mir from Bravo to correct the damage."

She used the comparison to the "Futurama" character to laugh off her misfortune on social media.

Leela is one of the main characters in the now canceled animated series "Futurama" which ran on Fox from 1999 to 2003 and Comedy Central from 2008 to 2013. The character was voiced by Golden Globe-winning actress Katey Sagal.

Others on social media appeared to agree with Abraham's comparison.
