Customer service has the power to make or break your dining experience. That's true at high-end restaurants but also at fast-food restaurants, where orders can go horribly wrong and staff can be tired from working long shifts. Based on these and several other factors, the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) has released its "restaurant report" for 2018-2019, which looks at how various fast-food restaurants compare in service according to customer satisfaction. Ratings were based upon the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 100-point scale.
Based on this data, here are the five fast-food restaurants with the worst customer service:
5. Burger King. The chain hopes to get its act together before introducing the highly anticipated plant-based Impossible Whopper burger.
4. Sonic Drive-In. The only good news is the company earned top marks for its beverage variety.
3. Jack in the Box. This chain inched up 1% from its 2018 score. Jack in the Box has made a move to spruce up its restaurants, but only time will tell whether this will improve its low ratings in customer service.
2. Taco Bell. There have been small gains for Taco Bell in the last year. The Yum! Brand franchise's rating rose 1% from last year.
1. McDonald's. Factors such as staff courtesy, menu variety, accuracy of order, and cleanliness all determined the low score for the home of the Big Mac. Despite this, 24/7 Wall St. noted that the burger giant continues to lead the fast-food market.
