'Fergie,' Prince Andrew Reuniting? Rumors Say Yes, Spokesman Says No

A royal spokesman has quashed the rumors that Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson and her ex-husband Prince Andrew are getting back together, despite many tabloid reports to the contrary.

Ferguson and Prince Andrew, formally known as the Duke and Duchess of York, married in 1986 and had two daughters together — Princess Beatrice, 25, and Princess Eugenie, 23. Prince Andrew is Queen Elizabeth II's third child and brother to Prince Charles of Wales.

Their marriage was subject to intense, often critical, media scrutiny, and the pair ultimately divorced in 1996 but remained close friends. Since then, Ferguson has intermittently cohabitated with the royal so the two could raise their daughters together.

"He's a great man and a first-rate father and the bestest friend," Ferguson said of Prince Andrew in a 2011 Harper's Bazaar interview. "I love him. He's my soul mate. It's actually what we said in front of God at the altar: We honor and respect each other until death do us part."

Tecent reports speculated that there may be a reunion on the horizon.

"Mark my words, they will remarry. It is only a matter of time," a close friend of the pair told the Telegraph.

Another said: "It wouldn't surprise me at all. They are a wonderful couple together and, better still, pretty amazing parents."

But now a spokesman for Ferguson has denied the claims.

"There's no truth in this story at all," he told Us Magazine. "They are the best of friends."
