"Fixer Upper" stars Chip and Joanna Gaines announced Tuesday on Joanna’s blog that their hit HGTV show will end after the upcoming fifth season, which starts in November.

“We have poured our blood, sweat and tears in into this show,” they wrote on the blog. “We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause.”

The pair said they want to take time to rest and be with their family more while maintaining their business, including a new restaurant in Waco called Magnolia Table and a line of home décor products at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond, Today reported.

The blog post also included a video looking back on how the show started.

“Five years ago, roughly, we were contacted by a production company who wanted to do a show about us here in our beautiful hometown of Waco, Texas,” Chip Gaines says. “And this journey has been indescribable, the opportunity of a lifetime. Our family has grown up before our eyes, on national television, which is an experience that I can tell you is beautiful.”

Joanna Gaines called the announcement “bittersweet,” but looked forward to slowing down and spending more time with the children.

Fans mourned the news of the show’s ending, with many saying their lives will be strongly impacted by the action.
